There are many sources to check on what is called "Todays National Mortgage Rate". Unfortunately, most sites like BestRate.com show an average rate that is just wrong. It only takes 1 or 2 mortgage companies to place an unobtainable rate for other companies to follow. They feel that if they post a "True Rate" they would look rediculous.
